Tentacles

Lory and I have been clear; we aren’t book or reading experts. We have no feeling that we know what you should read, but we love the idea that the things we talk about might lead you to books you will enjoy. It is something that drives us.

I had a beer with friend, Melinda, today and she told something that made me happy. I haven’t had a chance to share it with Lory yet, but I’m betting she will like it too.

Two Sides followers might remember that Lory and I read The Soul of an Octopus for our Battle of the Books: After Hours. We both liked it a lot. It was one of the books we chose to give away at our live audience kickoff episode.

I gave Melinda a copy of Soul. I think I did. If not, I definitely told her that she needed to read it. Melinda read it and liked it and recommended it to a book club she is in. That our recommendation led to Melinda recommending Soul to her book club would have been great, but there is more. Another member of the book club liked it so much that she sent Melinda a popup octopus card to thank her for recommending it and told her that sharing it with her family sparked an interest in octopi.

It is a little bit of Bliss when we know that what we are doing has touched other people and their reading.

Lory and I will keep sharing and keep hoping that we are touching reading lives.
