23 Book Hunts in 2023

In the beginning, the podcast that is associated with this website was going to be called Good Book Hunting. The name Good Book Hunting was an idea given to us by our good friend, Lisa Picker, of the Carroll County Public Library. The main concept for the podcast was going to be an account of Ted and I visiting bookstores, selecting books that grabbed our attention, and then talking on the podcast about the books, the bookstores, the towns, and the people we met along the way. Eventually we decided it would be too time consuming for us to put together enough trips to make the podcast solely about good book hunting, and so it became a part of the show and website, instead of every episode.

Now several months into the podcast and website being live, we have posted some blog posts in the good book hunting section of the website, but we haven’t done a Good Book Hunting trip or podcast episode.

That is going to change in 2023.

As you will hear us talk about in the Reading Resolutions episode, we are setting a goal of visiting 23 Good Book Hunting Destinations in 2023. We will be visiting locations in our home state of Maryland and will likely venture into PA, DC, VA, WV and DE, in search of good books.

In fact, we will also be reading 23 books in 2023, some of which will undoubtedly be found on our good book hunting trips. That resolution is a topic for another blog post and likely will be an additional podcast episode of it’s own in the coming weeks. Until then, be thinking about your own reading goals for 2023.
