Judgement Free Zone

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.

~ Joseph Addison

I start almost every day in the gym; and when I say morning, I mean 4:45 a.m.

Ok, now that we've established I'm slightly off my rocker, continue reading to confirm that thought.

My day is always better when I start it with a workout for my body. The same is true for my mind. As indicated in the quote, reading is a workout for my mind. Physical and mental fitness are important to me. With my body and mind both being used in a productive way, early in the morning, I end up feeling a greater sense of accomplishment when the day has ended.

Whether you think this is a great idea, or absurd, it works for me. And although Ted wouldn't consider getting up to workout or read at such an early hour, he doesn't pass judgement on my approach to reading time. Or maybe he does, but so what? Just as my gym promotes a judgement free zone, there are no rules for reading time.

So read what you want, where you want, and yes, when you want.
