Flora Lea

Not so long ago and not so far away, I told you that I was going to read Patti Callahan’s latest book, The Secret Book of Flora Lea. I read it; I liked it. I didn’t like it as much as Once Upon a Wardrobe, but that is an unfair comparison given how much I liked Wardrobe.

I think this is the sixth Callahan book I’ve read. I’ve not yet been disappointed. I want to read more of her books.

In the Two Sides interview with Patti on Wardrobe I said that I didn’t think Wardrobe could have happened without Becoming Mrs. Lewis. Now, I say that Flora Lea probably couldn’t have happened without Mrs. Lewis and Wardrobe.

Origins aside, I enjoyed it a lot. We’ve been in touch with Patti and are looking to talk sometime in the fall about Flora Lea. I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to talking about the book and looking forward to talking with Patti. Lory and I had such a good conversation with Patti; it feels like getting together with a friend even though we’ve never actually met.

Stay tuned. It will be a while, but another Patti Callahan episode is coming.
